Today’s piece concerns a fascinating topic in today’s political discourse: warrantless government surveillance of Americans. While the subject is compelling for any number of reasons, it’s of particular interest to me because opinions don’t break along party lines. And those opinions can be so strong that they make allies of otherwise diametrically opposed politicians. After all, in what world do you picture Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) voting with Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA)? In what upside-down world can you even picture that?
