I mentioned Tuesday this would be a week chock full of news and I fully expected the links here to reflect that. Then I saw today’s featured piece and things changed, because this link — a profile of a prominent senator — should have a greater impact than commentary tied to a certain day. For one thing, the profile gives dimension to someone commentators from both parties like to caricature. For another, it uses his own quotes to undermine the caricature and, by extension, those who created it. Whatever your thoughts on this senator — good, bad, indifferent — this piece will surprise you. We need more like it.
