Today’s link isn’t a take on the news from the left or the right, but rather a look at it from both sides. Like One Daily Link, The Flip Side is a website dedicated to bridging our political divide. Where we accomplish that by providing one side’s perspective each day, The Flip Side does it by offering both perspectives at once. They first offer a brief summary of where the left and right stand on a certain issue, then follow it up with quotes from each side’s foremost commentators. It’s a brilliant way not only to present competing arguments, but also to show how civil those arguments can be. How no one thought of this sooner, I’ll never know.

Those concerned The Flip Side is a conservative offering his best take on liberal thinking or vice versa needn’t worry. The site is run by a Democrat and Republican, meaning equal weight and honesty are given to each side. In the short time I’ve been receiving their newsletter, I’ve been endlessly impressed with their analysis and excerpts. It’s a true joy to read and leave our political rancor even further behind. In the year-plus of One Daily Link’s existence, The Flip Side has been one of the strongest additions yet to our daily news regimen. We hope you agree.
