A few years ago, today’s columnist wrote the best column I’ve read by far since starting this site. Most of his work now appears behind a paywall, which means I can’t feature it here; but when it’s available for free, I jump on the opportunity to share it because no one is better at celebrating human decency. Yes, there’s foolishness in the world, and he addresses that with equal brilliance. I don’t know of another writer, though, who so clearly believes it’s not only refreshing but also necessary to focus on the good in us. Columns like today’s make it hard to argue.
