After reading about the federal indictments filed against Donald Trump regarding the Mar-a-Lago documents, my original plan for today had been to simply post a link detailing the likely charges against him and give my thoughts. Then I read David French’s column in The New York Times and figured he should do the talking.

I know The New York Times is objectionable to those on the right and I understand, the same way I understand how The Wall Street Journal is objectionable to those on the left. But French is one of the great conservative minds, so the right owes it to itself to read him no matter where he appears (the left owes it to itself to read him, too). He’s so honest in dealing with his topics that it’s impossible to “what about” him. You can still disagree with him, but you can’t say he came by his conclusions rashly. Aren’t those the kinds of commentators we should be listening to?
