On Tuesday, the House passed a spending bill to keep part of the government running through January and another part through February. This was not guaranteed — not with a new Speaker, a new funding strategy, and a President who originally said that strategy was DOA. But somehow it all came together.

Today’s column is by left-leaning columnist Dennis Aftergut, who applauds Speaker Mike Johnson on seeing the job through. Let me say that again so you don’t have to start the paragraph over — our column is by a member of one party who would like to applaud a member of the other party. I don’t know what else to say other than enjoy.
