I’d found a great column for today — thought-provoking, well-informed, incisive — then dropped it in a hot second when I came across this one. That’s because the second column concerned not just a contentious issue, but how we might discuss that issue constructively. It would be a waste of time to summarize the author’s points since she puts them so perfectly. All I’ll add is we owe it to ourselves to remember her advice when we discuss any fraught topic or happen upon any inflammatory commentary. This is a column to bookmark and revisit on the regular.
